Every year there are fewer of us, and every festival we manage to hold is a promise kept. This is the place to stay close to Illorai and help it live, wherever you are.
Why this site exists
Illorai is losing its people, year after year. Every festival we manage to celebrate, the novena of Santu Nigola in September, the procession of San Gavino in October, is a promise kept to those who handed them down to us. If the village is left alone, those dates risk becoming memories. This site exists to keep that from happening: to hold together those who stayed and those who left, and to give everyone a concrete way to help.

The village
Illorai is a small village of around nine hundred people on the slopes of the Goceano, crossed by the upper course of the Tirso river, in a land rich in woods, history and traditions.
In September the feast of San Nicola da Tolentino, in October that of the patron saint San Gavino Martire: the two moments of the year when the village comes together, wherever its children may be.
The devotion to San Nicola is the legacy of the Augustinian convent founded in Illorai in 1624. All around, a land of nuraghi, trails and rural memory.
Many people from Illorai live elsewhere, in Sardinia, on the mainland or abroad. This portal exists for them: to stay close to the village and help it live.
Illorai around the world
From the Goceano to Canada, from Australia to Belgium: the people of Illorai are far more than those living in the village. This map is just a sketch; we will complete it together.
